Whether it is through life events, or following introspective moments, one quickly realizes the importance of self exploration.
We talk about it as a fashion.
But it is not.
Self-knowledge is at the center of our existence.
In Yoga and in other introspective practices it is no secret to look at who we are? What is life? How does it work? How to be in harmony with it? is the basis of any great change in life.
Meditation, asanas practices (preparing for meditation through posture work, relaxation) and openness to new life perspectives are among the most powerful tools.
It is difficult to translate what happens when we meditate. What we can say, from experience, is that it is a tool for reconnecting, to oneself, to life.
It can be illustrated as a thread connecting us to ourselves or to a peaceful, calm source, unaffected by the events of life.
At the beginning of our practice, it is perhaps difficult for us to perceive this thread.
We no longer have the impression of not distinguishing anything. Neither thread, nor peaceful source, nor reconnection, anchoring.
In any case, the thread is there.
It becomes shorter and shorter as a result of daily practice and a more lucid, pragmatic, concrete understanding of life.
This is thanks to our intuition and guidance.
On the other hand, the terms "pragmatic, concrete and lucid" have nothing to do with the daily use we make of them. They are completely revisited in yoga.
What meditation, the practice of asanas (postures) and what it reveals is so much closer to us that there comes a time when it is privileged.
These moments of introspection, of listening, of exploring, of connecting, we put them at the top of our list of priorities.
We understand, in fact, that all our questions, perceptions of the world, and "problems" refer to our lack of knowledge of life and ourselves.
Everything, absolutely everything, starts from there.
As soon as we are convinced of this (as a result of our practices, our reflections and observations) all we have to do is take risks and act accordingly.
