The pitfalls of spirituality: hurting yourself under the guise of a spiritual quest

Hurting your body by trying to reproduce a yoga posture under the guise of seeking enlightenment.

Hurting your self-esteem by accepting a spiritual authority who belittles and judges you under the guise of seeking to "kill your ego".

Wounding our self-respect, our deep intuition and our own guidance under the guise of respecting a methodological and framed practice.

Thinking oneself superior, different, under the guise of an awakened spirituality.

Thinking oneself capable of judging oneself and others under cover of

spiritual knowledge/texts (often put into context and little understood).

Fitting into a belief system that is not aligned with our own intuition, our inner drive and reasoning.

Persuading ourselves that awakening is something external to us that we have to achieve.

Persuading ourselves that awakening is escaping from our own existence.

Awakening is a reunion with what is already actual, but imperceptible to our eyes when thoughts and our attention on them take over.
