I was thinking of writing you an article about my current discoveries. In the end I preferred your reading time.
Meditation
The INSIGHT TIMER application
Presentation
It is as much a way to learn to meditate via free courses as a way to meditate alone.
You can find everything. Both thematic meditations like "stress", "love", "sleep" as well as basic methods of concentration and learning about the connection with sensations, breathing, sounds,...
So, I think it is for everyone.
On the other hand, if you have teachers, gurus or whatever that you value, you can find them on the application and access meditation sessions done by them.
How do I use the application?
There is a "Timer" section where you can set a meditation time x. For now I set 20 minutes. You can also choose a start and end sound via the Tibetan bowls. This is also very nice compared to the ringing of the cell phone.
PS: This is how a friend of mine discovered this application. Wink to her if you pass by.

How does it keep you motivated?
Insight Timer tells you how many people around the world are meditating at the same time as you. Indeed, there is a community spirit.
For example, at the end of each meditation session you are introduced to the people who meditated at the same time as you in your area. You can ask them as a friend or simply send them a "thank you for meditating with me".
This maintains the awareness of a link and connection with all that is. And it allows you to practice gratitude for the time you take for yourself and for all the others who are also taking care of themselves.
On the other hand, depending on the regularity you impose on yourself, you can choose to earn stars. The colors vary according to the number of days in a row that you have taken time to meditate, no matter how long the meditations last. This is a reward and tracking system. If you don't like it or don't want to value it you can always choose not to use it.
How can I find my way around?
In the profile section, @, you will find a grey box on the left of the screen "Find friends".
For the moment I am there under the name of Lifexploratrice ;)
Any guided meditations to recommend?
So far I would recommend two that I thought were relevant:
Faceless Deathless Ever-Fresh with Mooji of 45 minutes.
Personal note on the session: - allows for letting go
Vipassana (Basic) Meditation with Tara Brach :
Personal notes on the session:
- teaching of a technique
- it is not about emptying the mind
- keyword: thinking
Here you go, next time I will present you the methods mentioned here.
I don't lack ideas for articles to share with you: be aware. That said, don't hesitate to let me know which topics you are most interested in or which you would like me to address.
Merci
